Toowoomba Airport (YTWB)
Servicing training, private, charter, agricultural and airline operations to the Darling Downs and Granite Belt
Toowoomba Airport is located 5 Nautical Miles from the Great Dividing Range in the heart of Toowoomba City. Because Toowoomba is a non-controlled CTAF aerodrome, the Darling Downs Aero Club can offer you little to no delays for other traffic and means less time paying to taxi around on the ground, and more time flying.
As soon as your flight takes off and you turn left onto crosswind you are already in the training area, you have no lengthy transit times. This doesn't mean Toowoomba is a quiet airport and you wont get the experience from flying in such an environment. Everyday flights take off out of our aerodrome including; Regular Public Transport Flights, Private Flights, Charter and other Commercial Flights, Agricultural Operations, Fixed Wing and Helicopter Training Flights and with Warbirds and Classic Aircraft.
The Toowoomba Airport at current is published at a length of 1100 metres, this is more than long enough to accommodate lighter airline category aircraft, along with easily accommodating the needs of any of the Darling Downs Aircraft. At 2000 ft above sea level you will train in a higher density altitude which will both challenge and reward you on a hot summers day.
