Special Training: Theory

BASIC AERONAUTICAL KNOWLEDGE PROGRAM - BAK

The Darling Downs Aero Club is running a Basic Aeronautical Knowledge Program. The BAK Course covers All the theoretical knowledge student pilots are required to know by Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to pass the theoretical aspect of the General Flying Progress Test (GFPT). The GFPT is the first step towards gaining a Private Pilot’s Licence. This theory component is valid for Life. For those students who wish to gain the full General Flying Progress Test (GFPT), you are required to undertake the practical, flying aspect of training following or simultaneously to the BAK Theory Course.

The BAK course is now accredited by the Qld Studies Authority. This means that any senior student who completes our BAK course will achieve a one credit point towards their senior leaving certificate..

The next course will commence Sunday 14th March from 8.30 am sharp until 12.30pm and run over a twelve week period.

The cost is $560 This price includes:

Theory Course (12x4 hours face to face briefings)
30 minute trial intorductory flight

Basic Aeronautical Knowledge Text book
GFPT Training Workbook
Morning Tea
Examination Fee

Venue:	Darling Downs Aero Club - Clubhouse
Time:	8.30am - 12.30pm - every Sunday for 12 weeks
Commences:	13th March 2010
Concludes:	TBA
Excludes:	(School Holidays)
Conditions:	A minimum of 10 participants is required for the course to run. The course must be paid for at least 5 days before the commencement date. Students must either be at least 16yrs old or in year 11.

PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE THEORY - PPL(A)

The Darling Downs Aero Club can offer a full time PPL Theory course to help you pass your PPL(A) Theory examination, we can also conduct tests in-house with prior notice.

The course will be broken down into three major components;

Navigation
Meteorology
Airlaw

The other knowledge required for the examination builds on what was learnt in BAK, if you need a refresher or desire one-on-one training in any other area this can be arranged also.
