Obtaining Your Pilot's Licence

Your First Step to Adventure

The Darling Downs Aero Club is open 7 days a week to enable you to fly when it suits your needs - either full time or part time.  Simply phone or drop in to arrange your first lesson.

The Darling Downs Aero Club follows the Civil Aviation Safety Authority's progressive and competency based training syllabus. Lessons commence with the basics of flying, such as flying straight and level, climbing, descending and turning.  More advanced maneouvres are only introduced after the basics have been mastered.

It is preferable to apply for an Aviation ReferenceNumber (ARN) and complete your aviation medical prior to, or shortly after commencing your flight training, as solo flight is not permitted until the medical has been processed and issued to you by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. This can take several weeks.
