The Aero Club

about

The Darling Downs Aero Club has provided professional pilot training since 1946, training thousands of recreational and commercial pilots. The Club has built a reputation based on practical flying training, empathy and flexibility, focusing on your individual needs. Our mission is to provide quality aviation training and we will work with you to build the skills needed to achieve your goals.

DDAC is not just a flying school, it is also a not-for-profit aero club.  Members are part of an aviation community and enjoy a number of social events including monthly BBQs and flying competitions.  Student pilots are welcome to participate in these club fun days, as they will be flying with one of our instructors.  Typical fun days include streamer cutting, flour bombing and spot landing competitions.

The 'Touch and Go Bar' is open every Friday night, giving members the opportunity to socialise and talk about their latest flying adventure while watching the sunset over the airport. During the winter months, the club holds regular evening BBQs followed by a night flying exercises. Passenger seats are often available for friends and family wishing to see the lights of Toowoomba from the air.

Members can privately hire our aircraft at very competitive rates, and fly-aways encourage pilots to keep their flying skills current while enjoying a trip with friends. Our flying members are also entitled to 30 minutes of free flight instruction every 6 months - only the aircraft hire fee is payable.
